Seed reproduction

Planting period: it can be planted in spring, autumn and summer. Autumn planting is carried out after falling leaves in autumn and before soil freezing. The planting period is long in late autumn and early winter. At this time, the seedlings store more nutrition and the injured roots are easy to heal. After thawing in spring, they can absorb water and nutrition for the growth of seedlings, and the planting survival rate is high.

First, mix part of the topsoil excavated in the planting pit with the fertilizer evenly, fill another part of the topsoil into the pit, and step on it while filling. When it is nearly half filled, fill in the topsoil mixed with fertilizer. Then, put the Hawthorn seedling in the center to stretch its root system and continue to fill in the residual table. At the same time, gently lift the seedling to make the root system in close contact with the soil, and step on it with your feet. After the topsoil is exhausted, fill in the raw soil. The planting depth of seedlings is slightly higher than the ground at the root neck. Avoid watering after planting and seedling sinking, resulting in too deep planting. After planting, build a ridge around the seedlings, water them, and seal the soil after water infiltration to preserve moisture. In windy areas in spring, avoid shaking the seedlings by the wind to ventilate the roots, and cultivate a soil border 30 cm high at the root neck.

Mature seeds shall be stored in sand, 50-100cm deep ditch shall be dug, the seeds shall be mixed with 3-5 times wet sand and put into the ditch until it is 10cm away from the ditch edge, and then covered with sand to the ground. Before freezing, the soil shall be covered to 30-50cm above the ground. The seeds shall be overturned from June to July of the second year, taken out and sown in autumn, or spring sowing in the third year. The row spacing of drill sowing is 20cm, the ditch is 4cm deep and 3 ~ 5cm wide. 200 ~ 300 seeds are sown per meter. After sowing, it is covered with thin soil and 1cm thick sand to prevent soil hardening and water evaporation. The sowing amount is 375 ~ 450kg per 1H ㎡.

Cuttage propagation

Dig out the roots and tillers and plant them in the nursery for grafting. Cutting propagation: in spring, the root with a thickness of 0.5 ~ 1 cm is cut into 12 ~ 14 cm root segments and tied into bundles with a mass fraction of 0.3 × 10⁻⁶～0.5 × 10 ⁻ after the "September 20" diffuse, cultivate it with wet sand for 6 ~ 7 days, insert it obliquely in the nursery, and fill it with small water to make the roots closely connected with the soil. It can sprout around 15 days. When the seedling is 50 ~ 60 cm high in that year, it can be sprouted in early August.

Grafting propagation

It can be carried out in spring, summer and autumn. The seedlings or ramets propagated with seeds can be used as rootstocks. Bud grafting, branch grafting or close grafting are adopted, mainly bud grafting. When the height of seeding seedlings reaches 10 cm, the plant spacing of transplanting rows is 50 ~ 60 cm × 10 ~ 15cm. Combined with autumn ploughing and applying organic fertilizer, inorganic fertilizer can be sprayed on the leaves from flowering to vigorous fruit stage. Regularly reshape and prune, plough and weed, remove roots and tillers, cultivate soil, etc. Hawthorn production has the problem of low and unstable yield.
