Xu Changqing is a perennial herb of the genus Baiqian of the oleander family, mainly produced in southern and northeastern China. Xu Changqing can be used both internally and externally. Xu Changqing is a perennial erect herb, about 1 meter high. Its roots are whisker-like, up to more than 50. Stems unbranched, sparsely several from roots, glabrous or microscopic.
