Pinellia ternata (scientific name: Pinellia ternata), also known as Diwen and Shoutian, belongs to Araceae, Araceae and Pinellia. It is a medicinal plant with the functions of drying dampness and resolving phlegm, reducing stress and stopping vomiting, and eliminating boils and swelling. It is used by veterinarians to treat locked throat.
It is widely distributed in the Yangtze River Basin, northeast and North China, and also in Tibet. It grows below 2500 meters above sea level.
Tuber globose, 1~2 cm in diameter, with fibrous roots. Leaves 2-5, sometimes 1. The petiole is 15~20 cm long and has a sheath at the base. There are bead buds with a diameter of 3~5 mm in the sheath, above the sheath or at the base of the leaf (petiole tip). The
bead buds germinate on the mother plant or after landing; The leaves of the seedlings are ovate, heart-shaped to halberd shaped, and are entire single leaves, 2~3 cm long and 2~2.5 cm wide; The leaves of the old plant are 3-cleft, with green lobes, light back, oblong elliptic or lanceolate, two sharp ends, and the middle cleft is 3~10 cm long and 1~3 cm wide; Lateral lobes slightly shorter; Entire or with inconspicuous shallow wavy round teeth, lateral veins 8~10 pairs, weak, veinlets reticulate, dense, 2 circles of convergent veins.
Inflorescence stalk is 25~30 (~35) cm long, longer than petiole. Spathe green or green white, tube narrowly cylindrical, 1.5~2 cm long; The eaves are long and round, green, sometimes with blue purple edges, 4~5 cm long and 1.5 cm wide, blunt or sharp. Inflorescence: female inflorescence is 2 cm long, male inflorescence is 5~7 mm long, with an interval of 3 mm; Appendages green to cyan purple, 6~10 cm long, erect, sometimes "s" shaped curved.
Berry ovoid, yellowish green, apex tapering to an obvious style. The flowering period is from May to July, and the fruit ripens in August.
One is tuber propagation. Pinellia ternata has been cultivated for 2-3 years. The underground tubers can be dug after the seedlings are removed in June, August and October each year. Medium and small stems with a transverse diameter of 0.5~10cm, strong growth and no diseases and pests were selected as seeds, and small stems were better than large stems. Mix it with fine sandy soil with moderate dry and wet conditions, store it in a ventilated and cool place, and take it out for planting in the winter of that year or the spring of the next year. It is better to plant in spring, but the yield is low in autumn and winter.
Second, pearl bud propagation. In summer and autumn, the mature pearl buds under the petioles are used for strip planting. The row spacing is 10~16cm, and the plant spacing is 6~10cm. Holes are opened. 3~5 buds are placed in each hole, and the soil covering thickness is 1.6cm. At the same time, applying appropriate amount of mixed fertilizer can not only promote the germination and growth of Pearl buds, but also increase the fertilizer for the mother tuber, which is beneficial to yield increase.
Third, seed reproduction. Pinellia ternata, which is more than two years old, can bloom and bear fruit successively from early summer to autumn and winter. This method is used when there are insufficient seedlings or breeding. The mature seeds were collected from the withered spathe about 10 days after flowering in autumn and stored in wet sand.
