There was a patient who was so yellow and weak in his body that he was thin. On this day, he leaned on a cane and came to Hua Tuo step by step, humming: "Sir, please give me treatment."

When Hua Tuo saw that the patient had jaundice, he frowned and shook his head and said, "I haven't found a cure for this disease yet, and there is nothing I can do about it"!

Seeing that Hua Tuo couldn't cure him, the patient had to go home with a sad face and wait for death.

Half a year later, Hua Tuo met that person again. Unexpectedly, not only did this patient not die, but instead became strong and strong, with a blushing face. Hua Tuo was taken aback, and hurriedly asked, "Which husband cured your disease? Tell me quickly and let me learn from him."

The man replied: "I didn't ask my husband to see him. The illness is good for myself."

Hua Tuo didn't believe it: "Then there is such a thing! You must have taken some medicine?" "Neither have you taken medicine." "That's weird!" "Oh, because there was no food in the spring, I ate weeds for a few days."

"That's right! Grass is medicine. How many days have you taken it?" "More than a month." "What kind of grass did you eat?"

"I can't tell." "You show me." "Okay."

When they walked to the hillside, the man pointed to a piece of weed and said, "That's it."

Hua Tuo took a look and said, "Isn't this Artemisia annua? Could it be a cure for jaundice? Well, get something back and try it."

So Hua Tuo tried to treat jaundice patients with Artemisia annua. But after trying it several times, none of the patients sees a good result. Hua Tuo thought that the previous patient must have mistaken the grass, so he found him again, and asked, "Do you really eat Artemisia annua?" "That's right." Hua Tuo thought about it and asked, "You eat it." Is it the wormwood in the month?" "The one in March."

"Well, Yang Qi rises in spring and March, and herbs sprout. Perhaps Artemisia annua in March has medicinal power."

In the spring of the second year, Hua Tuo picked a lot of Artemisia annua from March to try to treat people with jaundice. This time it's really good! It turned out to eat one, which was a good one. But the Artemisia annua that is harvested after spring cannot cure jaundice.

In order to get a better sense of the medicinal properties of Artemisia annua, Hua Tuo did another experiment in the next year. He harvested Artemisia annua every month, put them separately according to the roots, stems, and leaves, and then fed them to patients. As a result, Hua Tuo discovered that only the young stems and leaves can be used as medicine to treat jaundice. In order to make it easy for people to distinguish, Hua Tuo named the young Artemisia annua, which can be used as medicine to treat jaundice, "Yinchen", or "Yinchen Artemisia". He also compiled four sentences for future generations.

The March Yinchen and the April Artemisia must be kept in mind.

March Yinchen can cure diseases, April Artemisia annua can be used as firewood

Artemisia annua is also a traditional Chinese medicine blindly. Chinese traditional medicine researchers have extracted artemisinin, which is a malaria medicine extracted from plants. It has very good effects and is well-known internationally.
