Licorice propagation method:

Seed propagation

Sow seeds in April in the spring of the second year, wear off the seed coat, or soak in warm water, and sown in sand in two months. Then soak the seeds in 60℃ warm water for 4-6 hours, remove the seeds and place them in a warm place, cover them with a damp cloth, and drench them with clean water twice a day, and the seeds can be sown after germination. Sowing from July to August, without accelerating germination, can be drilled and drilled, with a row spacing of 30 cm, open a 1.5 cm ditch, and the seeds are evenly spread in the ditch, covered with 2 to 3 cm of soil. Hole sowing: Planting 5 cm apart, sowing 5 seeds per hole. After covering the soil, pay attention to the close contact between the seeds and the soil. The dry soil should be watered. Use 30-37.5 kg of seeds per hectare.

Rhizome reproduction

Combined with the spring and autumn harvesting of sweet litter, the thick roots are used for medicinal purposes, and the thin rhizomes are cut into 4-5 cm sections, with 2 to 3 buds on them. In the first year of autumn, the line spacing is 30 cm open 10 Lay the roots flat with a ditch with a depth of 15 cm and a plant spacing of 15 cm.

Before and after the emergence of the seedlings, keep the soil moist and water the seedlings when they are dry. The seedlings will grow 2 to 3 true leaves. Cultivate the soil after the rhizomes are exposed to the ground, pull out weeds, prevent overgrown grasses, interplant with crops such as grain in the first and second years, and make rational use of the land. Before freezing, apply 2000 to 2500 kg of farmyard fertilizer.

Harvesting and processing: Seed propagation for 3 to 4 years, and rhizome propagation for 2 to 3 years before harvesting. From late September to early October in autumn, excavate when the stems and leaves on the ground are withered. Licorice roots are deep and must be dug deeply. Do not cut or damage the root bark. After dug out, remove the remaining stems. Avoid washing the soil with water. Separate the main roots and lateral roots while they are fresh. Remove the reed heads, hairs, and branches, and sun until semi-dry, bundle them into small bundles, and then sun dry until they are completely dry. You can also harvest the licorice stems and leaves in spring before unearthed. Digging, but the quality of digging in autumn is better.

Excavate in spring and autumn, remove the fibrous roots, and dry in the sun. During processing, the skin should be clean and dry, the single strips should be straight, with a knife at both ends, the caliber should be renewed, the rhizomes should be separated, and classified by category.
